Laura joined Demos in July 2018 and serves as a Senior Policy Analyst. Her research focuses on voting rights, money in politics, civic participation, and related democracy issues. Previously, she served as a Program Manager and then Interim Director of Young People For, a national multi-issue youth leadership development fellowship, where she worked to train and resource the newest generation of progressive leaders across the country. Before that, she supported young people in Louisiana to organize for racial equity and social justice in their schools as Education Outreach Coordinator at Puentes New Orleans. Most recently, she engaged in voting rights advocacy, organizing, and legal research at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice in Durham, North Carolina. Laura grew up in Hillsborough, North Carolina, and considers herself a Tar Heel for life. She holds a Bachelors in International Studies and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
