Walmart can give its low-wage workers a raise of $5.83 an hour.

Backed by the findings of Demos' newest report, A Higher Wage is Possible, Vice President of Policy and Outreach Heather McGhee explains that Walmart spent $7.6 billion last year to buy back shares of its own stock. Instead, it could have given its workers a raise.

As the nation's largest retailer, this could set the standard for companies across the country, and doing so would be good for business, communities, and the economy overall.
