Our intervention to prevent the adoption of roll-maintenance practices that would result in the removal of qualified voters from Los Angeles County's voter rolls
Challenge to guarantee that public assistance clients in Missouri receive the voter registration services required by Section 7 of the National Voter Registration Act.
We strongly support ACA 6, a bill that would place a state constitutional amendment on the ballot to restore voting rights to Californians on parole, and AB 646, which would make corresponding changes to the Elections Code.
As part of an effort to reshape rules around debt and lending to reduce racial wealth inequality, we propose establishing a public credit registry to gradually replace the current for-profit credit reporting system.

In 2012, Michigan passed a law that allowed the governor to appoint emergency managers in municipalities, depriving local elected officials of governing power. It overwhelming affected communities of color. We filed an amicus brief in opposition to it.
Our current system of campaign finance reform suppresses the political power of people of color and that lack of political power has had proven, lasting consequences.
Thank you, Senator Kaminsky and members of the New York State Senate’s Environmental Conservation Committee, for the opportunity to testify in support of the Climate and Community Protection Act (CCPA). My name is Lew Daly and I am a Senior Policy Analyst focusing on just and equitable climate policy at Dēmos, a public policy organization based in New York City. Dēmos advocates for economic justice, racial equity, and democratic empowerment, and it is in light of these values that I am testifying on behalf of my organization in support of the CCPA.
We write to applaud the introduction of HB 57, which would end felony disenfranchisement and facilitate full political and civic participation for thousands of New Mexico voters.

Demos strongly urges the Department of Homeland Security to withdraw the proposed rule to radically enlarge the list of criteria that will be used to decide whether an immigrant is likely to become a “public charge.”
Dear Ms. Verma:
I am writing on behalf of Demos to urge you to withdraw the proposed rule issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and published in the Federal Register on July 12, 2018, which would repeal a current regulatory provision clarifying that states may make deductions from provider payments for costs such as health care and skills training without violating the Medicaid prohibition on reassignment of provider claims at 1902(a)(32) of the Social Security Act.
Adding a question on citizenship status to the decennial census to which every household in the United States is required to respond is entirely unnecessary for the proper performance of the Census Bureau’s functions, and will greatly impair the quality, utility and clarity of the 2020 Census.
Dear Secretary Ashcroft and Director Walters,
As grassroots and non-profit voter advocates in Missouri, we work to remove barriers that impede the right to vote and discourage democratic participation. Missouri is in violation of provisions of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), a law designed to aid voter registration. We write today to urge you to bring our state into compliance with this law so Missourians can properly exercise our fundamental right to vote.
