Tonight, we are mourning a devastating loss for our country—for justice and equity, and for our democracy.  

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg was a passionate champion for disability rights and gender equality, and a fierce defender of voting rights throughout her illustrious career but most significantly during her 27 years on the bench.  

Her voice was vital in some of the most consequential decisions of our time.  

Beyond her accomplishments on the Court, Justice Ginsberg was a trailblazer for the ages and an unparalleled hero for so many.  

Tonight we mourn but tomorrow, we must redouble our fight for democracy in honor of her passing and her legacy.
