In solidarity with our movement partners, we will fight tooth and nail against every harmful policy and narrative.
Dēmos President Taifa Smith Butler released the following statement in response to the 2024 general election results:
Over the next four years, people power will be more important than ever in making our democratic process and economy work for our communities.
“While we wait for the final tally of votes, it is clear that stagnant economic conditions were a critical driving force for turnout this election. Over the next four years, people power will be more important than ever in making our democratic process and economy work for our communities.
“In solidarity with our movement partners, we will fight tooth and nail against every harmful policy and narrative. We’ll continue to dream big and lay the groundwork for a world where we belong, have a voice, and have economic security and mobility for all. No matter the climate, we must do the hard work of expanding our democracy and give everyone a chance to thrive in our economy.”
