Demos is dedicated to building a multi-racial, inclusive democracy. For 20 years, our research, advocacy, and litigation work has promoted and supported action and organizations to do just that.
Demos is dedicated to building a multi-racial, inclusive democracy. Our work over the past two decades has remained deeply and proudly committed to serve, center and support people-powered movements dedicated to racial and economic justice.
As an organization, we welcome and encourage the close examination of money in politics. Achieving true democracy demands the reexamination, reckoning, and ultimately reduction of the outsized role of money in our political system. For 20 years, our research, advocacy, and litigation work has promoted and supported action and organizations to do just that.
Since 2015, Demos has partnered with local chapters of the Working Families Party, Working Families Organization, and the Center for Working Families Fund, to expand voter registration and ensure fair, free, and open elections in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, DC. All grants distributed by Demos to WFP are restricted to educational, grassroots, power-building activities and expressly prohibit any endorsement of any specific candidate.
As a nonprofit think-and-do tank that conducts deep research and distributes briefs that support progressive, equitable and inclusive policies, all grants, subgrants and partnerships are publicly reported.
Demos is proud of our work with WFP, alongside our many other partners, and remains tirelessly dedicated to strengthening our democracy through transparency, coalition-building and programs that challenge corporate control over politics and lift the voices of working-class people, people of color, and communities committed to challenging politics as usual.
