Demos Applauds Governor Cuomo for Supporting Paid Family Leave in New York

In response to Governor Cuomo’s announcement that paid family leave would form a core part of his 2016 policy agenda, Demos Senior Policy Analyst Amy Traub issued the following statement:

Demos applauds the Governor’s leadership in calling for 12 weeks of paid family leave in New York and urges the State Senate to enact this legislation quickly.”

“No parent should have to choose between welcoming a new baby and earning the paycheck they need to support their family. And no working person should be trapped between caring for a sick loved one and making a living. Governor Cuomo is right to say that this is not where New York should be.
