WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Massachusetts Senator-elect Elizabeth Warren is likely to focus her efforts on the Senate Banking Committee in areas that go far beyond her bread-and-butter expertise in consumer protection, analysts say.

“Issues like the Volcker Rule are intimidating to some lawmakers who have less experience with banks, banking and financial transactions,” said former Goldman Sachs (US:GS) banker Wallace Turbeville. “But not her. She will be able to get up to speed on issues like the Volcker Rule quickly and take an interest.”
