The Fellows Program supports scholars, journalists, and advocates whose innovative work on important national issues influences the public debates. The program offers an intellectual home and communications platform to more than 20 fellows from multiple backgrounds: emerging public intellectuals, journalists, distinguished public figures, and academics whose research can be used to inform the policy world.

The Emerging Voices Initiative, a platform within the Fellows Program, develops early-career writers and thinkers who contribute new ideas and perspectives to important public debates as rising thought leaders. Emerging Voice Fellows typically have 3-5 years experience in journalism, academic writing, or new media work, and are looking for an intellectual home to develop a major project or set of projects with strong potential.

All Demos fellowships are awarded on a highly competitive basis. If you would like to be considered for a Demos fellowship, please send a CV and a statement of your professional interests (not to exceed 2,000 words). In the statement, please tell us what your work comprises (research, reporting, analysis, multi-media, and/or storytelling, etc.); what work you propose for your fellowship tenure; what major social, political, policy challenges you are tackling; how your work could benefit from an affiliation to Demos; and your professional aspirations. Please send materials to FellowApplication@demos.org.

Queries are replied to as promptly as we're able. Thank you for your interest in Demos.

Note: The thoughts and opinions expressed by Demos Fellows reflect those of the individual contributors alone. Fellows' commentary does not necessarily reflect the views of Demos.
