She is an expert in the study of social stratification and inequality, diversity and inclusion within organizations, and of the intersections of race, class, and gender on health outcomes and disparities. Her scholarship uses qualitative and quantitative methods. She is the author of several scholarly articles, and co-author of the book Diversity in Organizations: A Critical Examination (2015). Henderson currently serves on the Executive and Planning Committees of the Faculty Women of Color in the Academy National Conference and the Association of Black Sociologists.
