TODAY: Dēmos, ACLU, NEOCH and APRI to Host Media Call Ahead of Oral Arguments in Ohio Voter Purge Case

NEW YORK — On Thursday, January 4th at 10 AM ET, Dēmos and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) will host a media call to discuss the upcoming Supreme Court oral argument in the case of Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute, to be heard on January 10th.  The case involves Ohio’s practice of purging registrants from the voter rolls for failure to vote—a practice that has stripped eligible voters from the rolls and resulted in their disenfranchisement.

About the Case: Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI)

Ohio’s Supplemental Process targets voters who fail to vote in a two-year period for eventual removal from the voter roll based on the erroneous presumption that such voters have moved.
