With New Senator Sanders Proposal, All Democratic Candidates Offer Solutions to Big Money in Politics

Yesterday, Sen. Sanders offered a solid, detailed plan to combat big money in politics. His proposal means that heading into Saturday’s debate all three Democratic candidates now have specific policy agendas aimed at addressing the unprecedented influx of big money into U.S. elections.

“It’s encouraging that all of the Democratic contenders have now offered concrete policy proposals to address the disproportionate influence of America’s donor class,” said Adam Lioz, Demos Counsel and Senior Advisor.  “Now, we need to hear all three candidates talk about detailed solutions in the debates and on the campaign trail, telling us exactly what they will do to enact their agenda in the first 100 days of their administration. The public is well aware of how the wealthiest few are setting the agenda in Washington--the candidates need to show how they will put voters first.”
