Anti-$15 Minimum Wage Ad Reveals How Fast-Food Companies Really Feel

The image chosen also appears to be deliberately misleading, Robbie Hiltonsmith, senior policy analyst for left-leaning think tank Demos, told Mic via email.

"If there's one person that exemplifies who fast food workers aren't, it's a white male millennial," Hiltonsmith wrote. "As this CEPR report shows, 41% of fast food workers are people of color, 27% have children and [...] 31% actually have some college education.

"An accurate billboard would show a 23-year-old woman (23 is the median age of fast food workers) perhaps Latino or Black, saying 'now I can actually afford to feed my family/finish the college degree that was the reason I got this job to begin with.'"
