Roy Ulrich is a Policy Analyst at Demos. He is a public interest lawyer, consumer advocate, and public radio broadcaster who lives in Santa Monica.

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in Communications and Public Policy, Mr. Ulrich went on to receive his law degree from California Western University in San Diego in 1969.

Mr. Ulrich's field of interest is political reform law. He specializes in drafting legislation and initiatives on behalf of public interest groups. In that capacity, he serves as President of the California Tax Reform Association, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of California Common Cause, and as a consultant to the Center for Voting and Democracy (FairVote). Beginning in the fall of 2010, he will be teaching at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley.

In addition, he hosts a weekly public affairs program on Pacifica station KPFK (90.7 fm) in Los Angeles, which focuses on public policy issues in the news.

He has also written for the editorial pages of the Los Angeles Times and The Nation magazine, among other publications.
