Joseph de la Torre Dwyer
Research Assistant
Demos Staff
Joseph joined Demos in September 2011 to research financial aid programs for postsecondary students, especially as these programs pertain to community college students, students of color, first-generation students, and students from low- to moderate-income families. In particular, this research will be used to produce a forthcoming report on the Federal Work-Study program, a financial aid vehicle designed to reduce the burdensome costs of a postsecondary education for students with need while linking them to vocational pathways that will serve them in their future careers.
Joseph’s previous work has been as an instructor at Rutgers University while continuing work on his forthcoming dissertation on the politics of undervalued work in Cuba. He has a BA in Government from Notre Dame and an MA in Political Science from Rutgers University.
