About Economic Challenges of Young People

Although adults of all ages have endured the economic and social changes wrought by the postindustrial era, today's young adults are the first to experience its full weight as they try to start their adult lives. But the challenges facing young adults also reflect the failure of public policy to address the changing realities of building a life in the 21st century. As a result, it has become increasingly difficult for this new generation of young adults to either work or educate their way into the middle class.

Demos is conducting extensive research on the economic challenges facing young people and developing comprehensive policy solutions to address those concerns. We are also engaging a national network of concerned advocates to help build momentum for critical state-level reforms.
