Join Demos' Lisa Danetz for a panel discussion about the U.S. Supreme Court's controversial Citizens United decision and its impact.

Read Danetz's prepared remarks from this event.

The other panelists include Ben Clements, formerly Governor Deval Patrick’s chief legal counsel and John Walsh, chair, Massachusetts Democratic Party, formerly Governor Patrick’s campaign manager.

The presentation is sponsored by the American Constitution Society and will be held in conjunction with the second anniversary of the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision, which held that the government may not ban political spending by corporations in candidate elections. Panelists will consider if the decision should be changed and its effect on the election process.
