Mixed Job Prospects for College Grads

Posted by Gennady Kolker at 11:59 AM on March 16, 2009

The bad news is that 2009 college graduates will have a harder time finding a job, but the good news is they may find one in the public sector.

According to a study released by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), companies are expected to hire 22% less graduates from 2009's graduating class.

But as the Boston Globe reports, college graduates "are pursuing less lucrative but potentially more satisfying opportunities in public service, enrolling in record numbers in the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and Teach for America."
